Questions I want to wright about:

- Write a short letter to the author/ playwright or to one of the characters. Tell them what is on your on your mind.

Dear Mr. Birling

I am the Pastor of your village, Joachim Wagner. From Eric I have heard the whole story you had as a family yesterday evening. That an inspector did asked you some questions and that you also found out what Erics problems are and what he did to get money for his girl who was pregnant.

Eric has told me, that his relation to you is down at the moment.

I understand him. He is a young man who did a mistake and he is sorry about that. It’s not easy for such a young man to handle right in such an impractical situation. He just wanted to do the best of this unpleasant situation. He told me, that he really wants to pay you this money back he had stolen from you.

Eric is a honest young man. And he wants to have a better relationship between you and him. He even came to me and asked for advice how to make this father- son relationship better again.

Because of that, Mrs. Birling I would like to invent you and Eric for Friday evening to diner. Afterward we could talk about your problems and how to make your relationship better.

Best regards,

Joachim Wagner

  1. Interesting! The task was actually to write to the character in the book from the readers perspective, not from a new character. But I really like this angle. I might take this up as a new task for future Action Plans etc.

"Invent" means "erfinden". You mean "invite".
To "handle right" is incorrect. You would say "to act right" or "to handle the situation correctly".
