Journal Blog 4 (p.58…66)

 

Prediction:

- At any point in the story predict how some character is going to change/ develop as the story progresses. How will they change?

 

For this blog I will chose the character of Mrs. Birling. Until now we didn’t know her very much. This figure of this theatre was in the past all the time in the background. Now I’ve decided to analyse her character, how is the relationship between her and the inspector, who is asking her questions and how I think she will develop her character in the course of the story.

As we can see in page 58 line 2 or page 60 line 1, Mrs. Birling answer the questions very short and with much antipathies. She let the reader feel, that she don’t likes the character of Inspector Goole and also dislike his questions. Because of that she even asks annoying questions back to provoke the inspector. Because of these things, I think the relationship between these two is not good.

I think Mrs. Birling is a very stubborn Person. I only know this because of the way she answers questions and she react in different situations in these pages. And that’s the reason why I think Mrs. Birling will not change her character much. I think she also will not be sorry about what she had done with Daisy. I think she will not believe that she also had done something, which had finally brought the death of Daisy.

Journal Blog 8   Questions I want to wright about: -        Say what you think the author is trying to do or say. What is the author’s main message or purpose? Say how well you think the author succeeds in what he is attempting and give reasons for your answers.   Now we have finished reading this play “An Inspector Calls”. I think it has a special end. I mean that, because the end is created, that quite everything I was thinking while reading is collapsed in the end. The whole story seems to begin again, which makes, that the theatre has an open and undefined end.
